Well, this is it ... our first foray into the blog world ... and not a moment too soon! We are fortunate to have a Chief and Command Staff that are exploring - and exploiting - each and every way to reach out to the community ... and so the SCMPD "CopBlog" is born.
There is no way we are going to effectively tackle the crime problem without the help of our community. We recognize it's our job to help empower you - give you the tools you need - to help you be safer here in Savannah and Chatham County.

Congratulations! Thank you! This is a welcomed & well put together site with words like community & initiative & discussions! Our community is full of humble, moral citizens & this site may be what is needed to continue strengthening & promoting our beautiful city Savannah, Georgia. My first suggestion to consider having a city-wide, well promoted daily for months of an upcoming cd & dvd burning. Our citizens know of many violent cd's & dvd's like Grand Theft Auto are a bad influence on many youth's homes, childhoods, & education. Everyone could be well notified when to gather to throw into a great fire to forever rid their homes & lives of these bad influences! This is my suggestion & would love to see it come to fruition! Our prayers at Tuesday night prayer meeting is for God to help our young men & women & to bless our elder citizens and to bless beautiful Savannah! Thank you again for this site; I do believe it will take off positively & soon!
